🇩🇰 Folk songs carefully selected by Myrkur, sound charmerende. I’m offering you to witness it yourself.
Amalie Bruun, better known as Myrkur is famous for her unique manner to revive Northern art in unexpected way. Back in 2014, she started her musical project as one-woman black metal band. In 2020, we have nothing blackish to stay.
Instead, Myrkur’s voice takes all the space and reigns. Strings, nickelharpa, keys, percussion, and soft backgrounds help her to praise the heritage of Nordic music. “Folkesange” is an obvious title for a collection of pure Danish folk music. This time, Amalie used English lyrics for several songs, and this contrasts with the album’s atmosphere.
Try not to sink in this ocean of high-pitched voice, for instance, in “Gudernes Vilje” (“The Will of the Gods”). Nordic goosebumps are obligatory there!
