🇩🇪 This sky is silent… so are they, German metalheads from Below A Silent Sky performing great heavy instrumental stuff.
What is seen from afar? Should it be a gloomy valley or a dead forest? Rising sun or a mount covered by ice… Quartet from Ilmenau Below A Silent Sky follows their own path by recording the second album entitled “A View From Afar”.
Well, Christian, Robin, Diego und Heinz are not in a rush. Instead, they untangle special slow riffs, majestic and heavy. My personal pick is the first track, “The Highest Shrine”: rare episode for me not to be bored by really long-lasting composition.
Yes, your head can keep swaying for all the time they play. If not, there is something deeper, something reacting to caverns of light, to the vibration of strings. It’s not that hard to find it out under the silent sky…
