🇸🇪 Cult of Luna is always back with something immeasurable. One cannot get it in one time. One has to make a journey to obtain the full depth.
I bear in mind not only the length of their songs. (In that sense, they are true to themselves and don’t hesitate when it comes to ten minute songs). I’m talking about a phenomenon of gradual diving into the music’s matter.
The first contact with the album is barely overwhelming. Yes, it’s Cult of Luna, and the guys don’t look back and don’t stumble. They tell a story instead. A strange story is also brought through lyric videos made by Johannes Persson: “The Silent Man” (A Dawn to Fear pt. 1) and “Lay Your Head to Rest” (A Dawn to Fear pt. 2). What are these people from the past doing? There is a secret after secret through episodes of human life.
It’s epic.
For those of you who is interested in detail, please check Johannes’ interview which touches aspects of the band’s pathway during last years.
