Snorri Hallgrímsson – Landbrot (2021)

🇮🇸 This album is so deep that listening to it turns everything upside down. You just lose yourself and stay with it.

Snorri describes himself his music as “usually slow and sometimes sad”. This “sometimes” is slightly underrated. Meaning, don’t expect anything when you listen to “Landbrot” or any other Hallgrímsson’s work. Just let the music enter your soul, providing melancholia and vulnerability.

Wonderful world is lurking behind these tiny piano sounds and so meaningful pauses. Violin, viola and cello play their roles as well, letting a listener’s breath rise and slow down. Finding new perspective for old and occasionally forgotten feelings.

Revival. That’s what happens, only if you let it happen. For this, you don’t need anything else, just your heart connected to the music. The last track from the album, “Addi & Eva”, proves it, even if you dissolve yourself before.
