Our goose machine of time delivers us into April and May of 2023. There are 10 new recording from the people already mentioned in our blog. Let’s listen to all of them and previous works at the same time.

1. Spotlights โ€“ Alchemy For The Dead (2023)

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Since the moment when the brilliant “Seismic” appeared in our blog, the discography of this trio has been replenished with the “Love & Decay” album, which we missed from the chronicle. And now justice has triumphed. Alchemy is at its best again, albeit for the dead. The question is in the air, who is truly alive these days? For all who feels dead this music is a perfect remedy. For those of you who prefer to declare yourselves alive, it would serve as no worse soundtrack.

Previous masterpiece by Spotlights, “Seismic” (2017).

2. Tunic โ€“ Wrong Dream (2023)

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ The record from the Canadians received a strange name. Moreover, its cover is no less wild. Beneath this cover, you’ll find the same exuberant energy. It’s considerably matured but not aged at all. Only occasionally do the guys pretend that they are a little tired, but as soon as they accelerate after that, the headache immediately disappears. Atonal punk, harsh and uncompromising, fueled by the band’s signature ringing sound, will once again burst into your ears and stir up rusty neurons.

Previous masterpiece by Tunic, “Quitter” (2021), in our Chronicles Episode ~10.

3. Sleepsculptor โ€“ Divine Recalibration (2023)

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Here is another album from the American continent. It’s even heavier than the previous ones. It feels like a wave lifts us to its crest and throws us to the foot. These guys continue to sculpt their crazy figures from whatever comes to hand. Everything is used, whether it is mathcore, death, djent, or sludge. The fragments are carefully polished and held together by riffs and constantly straying rhythms. I’d barely say a word about the vocals, as itโ€™s really a concentrate of rage. You better turn this recalibration on and take care!

Previous masterpiece by Sleepsculptor, “Sleepsculptor” (2020).

4. Hualun (่Šฑไผฆ) โ€“ Homework In Quiet Time (2023)

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ We are closing the month of April with this album from China. Greetings from the distant year 2019! It comes to us from a quiet time interrupted by an era of pandemic and global chaos. The material for this record was prepared just before. It took a couple of years, and now the story continues with us as the characters inside it. The music goes through us, making our hearts beat and our limbs move. It’s some kind of hidden energy charging the cells and curing the woes of isolation.

5. Herod โ€“ Iconoclast (2023)

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ญ Having caught our breath a little thanks to the previous album, we rush straight to the Alps to experience a new portion of heavy radiation. The Swiss are among those who adhere to the proven course. The guideline is to celebrate once every five years with a powerful release. This mighty band each time reveals the atmosphere discovered in the 90s by pioneers on both sides of the Atlantic. In the same time, the group moves forward, offering interesting and not boring material.

Previous masterpiece by Herod, “Sombre Dessein” (2019).

6. Hope The Flowers โ€“ Sonorous Faith Ptโ€‹.โ€‹2 (2023)

๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ญ Once again, a time for the waves of tranquility comes. It’s true not only for this episode of Goosebumps Chronicles, but for this project from Thailand itself as well. The case is that the first part of the duology was way more aggressive and harsh. Now, the second half continues in a more familiar way for the group. It is the soft side of the force, inspiring and harmonizing the strings of the soul. The strings indeed play an important role in imparting soft vibrations to this beautiful music.

Previous masterpiece by Hope The Flowers, “I Miss You” (2017).

7. Bike โ€“ Arte Bruta (2023)

๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ท The story of the quartet from Sao Paulo takes another turn, rewarding their fans with an excellent portion of hot Brazilian psychedelia. We will find ourselves in the middle of the tropics. The ambience is full of wild greenery and vibrant colors scattered around. Moving deeper into the jungle, we suddenly find ourselves in an otherworldly area created by crude art. I have no idea why they call it crude, but thatโ€™s how the title of this work is translated. It seems that this art is rather subtle than rude!

8. Cairo Jag โ€“ Live at Back Alley Ballyhoo ’22 / Jams From The Castle Vol. 1 (2023)

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Our episode would not be complete without a live performance. An incendiary concert by a trio from Indiana will not leave you indifferent. It is full of good pumped up rock and roll. The sound is instantly setting you up for a resonant wave. Just relax a little and your limbs will find better use for themselves. Just give in to temptation and forget yourself for a while by listening to this excellent show once again. There is only one sad fact, that you could not visit the gig in person. Perhaps next time?

9. Eternal Wanderer โ€“ Cosmic Tragedy (2023)

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฆ The Eternal Wanderer continues his journey, interrupted by a terrible tragedy. Who would have thought that after the dawn and a winter fairy tale, a crimson sunset and night sirens would come. This album dissolves the ashes and echoes of explosions which follow the flashes in the middle of a gloomy sky. Pain and loss are multiplied by timelessness. No words needed. The tragedy that burst into space speaks to the stars in its own language, in the language of beautiful, heart-tugging music.

10. Echoes of Zoo โ€“ Speech Of Species (2023)

๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช Our episode is wrapping up with completely different music from Belgium. Let’s diversify the menu by enhancing it with vibrations of all stripes! It seems that the wild speech of the creatures will not leave the imagination of the listeners alone. Experience multidimensional fusion with elements of progressive stuff, psychedelia and free experiments in musical taxidermy. The marvelous zoo is open to everyone, no matter which side of the cage you are on!
