Here is a very interesting album composed by American band Spotlights which stoutly cancelles borders between styles.
I’ve been always searching for something heavy and terrific without aggression in the same time. Here you are: “Seismic” makes this idea come true. Yet their compositions are full of shoegaze, something progressive and melodic coming from rock music, there is also a room for overwhelming post-metal. The peculiar fact is that Spotlights is made up by a married couple of Sarah and Mario Quintero. And they are more and more successful on their way started by “050809” single which they’ve released five years before…
The centerpiece of this album is a cosmic feeling – like you’re at the planetarium and suddenly your comfortable chair disappears and you no longer know on which planet you are.
Listen to it loud. Feel the depth of these notes…
