Shalan Alhamwy is talented violinist and composer. Several years age he launched Jiraan Ensemble to embody his passion for exquisite music. Eventually, the debut album is in front of us.

Based in Ghent, Belgium, Jiraan Ensemble consists of twelve musicians with different origin, background and habits. Shalan manages to unite them and make a choir of ardent souls.

Jiraan stands for “the neighbors” in Arabic. It’s not a secret that this music absorbs the heritage of Syrian, Turkish and Iraqi music, adds European stirrings, and a pinch of pathos. Taste the wonderful elixir and enjoy.
