From the deepest grey to the black. That’s a transition that comes up when listening to this album. Slow motion of despair, scraps of feelings, meaning and futility of the life.

The album unveils the whole evolution of the band during last two years, since their previous work was released. Yet Wren stays the same act nowadays, you get way richer variations of sounding and extreme might.

“Groundswells” seems a collection of soundscapes that you wander out into. Your speed becomes equal to the pace of the music, and you even cannot say what’s moving, either you or the ambience. This sensation follows me from the first note till the last echo in the end of the album.
