Air Space โ€“ Cricket Cipher (2024)

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Here is an unusual album from the periphery of music. Somewhere the music ends, turning into something much less definable. “Sound art” possibly.

Air Space is a collaboration between two contemporary artists. Brian Shankar Adler is a multi-instrumentalist specializing in percussion. In the project, his contribution is to saturate the space with rhythm. The pulse is passing through the compositions and creating the basis.

Mike Effenberger is a keyboardist who uses multiple instruments to complete duo’s minimalist paintings.
Somewhere a melody appears, then it dissolves into atmospheric structures, giving way to hums and noises. You could say drone. Although it does not act on its own since both melodies and rhythms are returning.

The dialogue ends with something meditative and ecstatic.
It’s unproven, unfinished, returning the wheel to the initial phase of the cycle. And we can safely end with a beginning.
