๐ฆ๐บ Today I want to share some soothing and world-unifying. Why not something Persian, I thought… Therefore we are heading to Australia.
This collective is led by Kate Pass, who is a double bassist, a producer and the community’s organizer. In addition to her instrument, on this album you will hear piano, oud, saz, saxophone, trumpet, daf and drums in various combinations. The ensemble is multinational indeed. They are eight talented musicians, which are together rethinking ancient legends in a new way.
This work is based on the Shahnameh, the Book of Kings, a prominent Persian epic dating from the early 11th century. It can be said that it serves as a kind of soundtrack, or a free interpretation of images and legends. Someone will find jazz style here, others will be fascinated by the beauty of Middle Eastern melodies. Finally, the harmony inside the compositions is noteworthy.
