In this episode, our mood is going to shift pretty fast. We’ll have upbeat moments and time to reflect. Light and dark, humble and pushy, this music is living by itself.
1. Maa Ilmasta – Kaunis Kesäkaupunki (2023)
🇫🇮 Firstly, we are heading to the North to visit the hot Finnish guys, Maa Ilmasta. They’ve just released a fresh album worth a listen. The mood changes from composition to composition and within almost every track as well. From something frivolous and subtle, we will quickly move on to faster and more cheerful rock, sometimes giving way to improvisations with a heavier or blurry sound. There is also a room for jazzy influences that adorn particular moments of this story.

2. Hvalfugl – Bag Vore Øjne (2022)
🇩🇰 On the Danish shore, an outlandish bird dwells. You are lucky enough to meet this rare creature and hear its voice. The music you’ll be listening to is light and soulful. It keeps the essence of the sea, the sturdiness of the cliffs, and the softness of a feather. That’s what helps not to lose breath and pulse in our tough times.

3. Daniel Villarreal – Panamá 77 (2022)
🇵🇦 🇺🇸 It’s time to move to bustling Chicago… and find ourselves among the jungles of Panama. Our next hero is riding a time machine and using it to send futuristic rhythms back half a century. And from the 70s, the melodies move to the present day, being realized in a modern style. Yes, the author’s idea defeats time.
