Four Picks. 4 Albums With Winter’s Passion

This episode incorporates different winter goosebumps, starting from cozy and ending up with stunning ones.

1. Fabeldyr – Når du Kommer Hjem (EP) (2022)

🇳🇴 The first release in our episode is short, but magically enjoyable. Somehow, these Norwegians manage not to invent anything special, but to cheer up. The songs are cozy and homely. That’s initial intention of the composers, and the result absolutely matches the idea. The sextet’s music invites us to open a door of a tiny shack lost in infinite snow and enter a cozy room full of coziness.

2. Wafekome – Wafekome (2022)

🇬🇧 Cool refreshing waves spread under this album’s cover. The instruments here interact organically, joining their unique voices with tender vocals. Each of the musicians has its own background and interests. Gathered together, they come up with something both extraordinary and characteristic of different cultures and trends. A great album for your evening.

3. Mia Turbia – El Camino (2022)

🇪🇸 It’s time to speed up a little. Let’s catch the guitars’ drive, frisky rhythm of the drums and dizzying energy that four Spaniards pour into their tracks. Perky rock with hot spices, wide perspective and cheerful mood.

4. Stones Of Babylon – Ishtar Gate (2022)

🇵🇹 This time, the heavy faction comes from neighboring Portugal. Six weighty messages, not sure if they are coming from the Lisbon studio or from Mesopotamia. A smoky doom stoner as it should be, with catchy riffs and mysterious atmosphere that dissolves beyond the ghostly horizon.
