Qais Essar is one of the few musicans in the world who popularize rubab or rabab. This instrument is a relative or a progenitor of the Indian sarod. Qais sets his goal to restore justice and draw attention to his main instrument as it is worthy of a much wider audience.

On his fourth album, the musician presented compositions that expand the possibilities for rabab. This includes not only traditional Afghan music but also improvisations and formats not intended for a rabab.

The album’s title, “Echoes of the Unseen,” defines the author’s message. We will listen to modern classical Afghan music in a new and previously unheard-of key. Qais is accompanied by musicians who play no less extravagant oriental instruments, such as dilruba, daf, tabla, bansuri, and santur.
