๐ฎ๐ณ ๐บ๐ธ Alam Khan is the successor of his father, master Ali Akbar Khan, a true devotee and popularizer of sarod and Hindustani tradition in the Western world.
His father presented the tradition in both ways, unchanged and adapted for the modern ignorant listener. Then, Alam went even further along the same trajectory. He managed to collaborate with a variety of groups and artists, offering the audience new projections of the talent.
The record that we are listening to today is remarkable for its variety of sound. Representatives of both the East and the West took part in the work.
India is rediscovered by sitarist Arjun K. Verma and three brilliant tabla masters at once. The second component of the union is the string quartet Del Sol Quartet. Viola, two violins and cello sound incredibly natural when they find themselves together with Indian instruments on the same stage and in the same studio.
