Four Picks. 4 Positive Progressions

1. Nautha โ€“ Metempsychosis (2023)

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น Back in 2023, the Italian project released their second album in five years. Obviously, the guys worked hard on it. This is a grandiose conceptual work with a constellation of melodies. The soulful vocals, especially the duet, undoubtedly enhance the sound.

2. Aton Five โ€“ Aton Five (2023)

๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‡บ The Moscow based band debuts in our blog with their last year’s self-titled album. The guys indulge in vast exploration with all their might, leaving only one compact track in the middle. Perhaps it’s intended as a short break as it is followed by the florid “Danse Macabre” with bright guitar solos. In addition to the guitar parties, the final piece lasting for more than 20 minutes has no less persuasive keyboard ones. They are characteristic to the whole album’s sound.

3. Tanshuman Das โ€“ Progress Report (2024)

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ The next opus came to us from India. This is the debut album from a local musician and producer. Preparing the songs for a decade, he finally gathered the colleagues from India, Europe and the USA to take part in its creation. Even a Dream Theater member showed up. Can you imagine a djent with a keyboard? Seems quite appropriate, right? Then, what about a flute and a harp? This sounds more interesting, isn’t it?

4. Orbit Culture โ€“ Descent (2023)

๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ช A band from the Swedish town of Eksjรถ led by Niklas Karlsson is concluding our episode. This album turned out to be the heaviest of the four. Moreover, it covers several genres at once, all sounding in one harness. It starts out epic and spacious and after a while it sounds almost like industrial or math metal, with thrash riffs and frantic growls. Hop, and the vocals become clean all of a sudden and everything becomes progressive.
