🇬🇷 Apostolos Sideris is a wonderful Greek musician, bassist and composer who interacts with several elements at once.

Educated at Berkeley, he set out in search of the enchanting Mediterranean waves. His double bass served as the perfect instrument for this lifelong journey.

Along the way, he assembled a team of gifted artists who had valuable skills in their baggage. Apostolos’ collection of treasures is impressive. Some are from Turkey, some from the Middle East, and there are also finds from more distant parts of the world.

Let us just mention the participants. Argentine jazz pianist Leo Genovese, also known for his collaboration with The Mars Volta. Italian brass player Andrea Romani; Turkish percussionist Sakir Ozan Uygan and two other Greek musicians, Giannis Poulios on violin and Dimitris Klonis on drums.

The binding solution for neighboring currents are two beautiful substances that are inseparable from each other in Sideris’ music, namely Mediterranean traditions and magical jazz. Take a ride on an outlandish magic carpet from the past to the present, as the title of this album suggests.
