VuVuVu โ€“ VuVuVu (2023)

๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Today we are listening to an exquisite release from Tel Aviv.

The members of this quintet have appeared in several projects of various kinds before recording this self-titled album. Now, they have selected an interesting style which is offering soft-sounding electrified funk, soul, or something psychedelic that found its way throughout jazz.

In the compositions on the album you will find a lot of Middle Eastern, as well as southern and desert. The clavinet, an electromechanical invention of the last century, gives a zest, which enriches VuVuVu’s style with both nostalgic and somehow funny sound. Moreover, juicy percussion added to the drumming turns out to be relevant indeed.
