In this episode, we are enjoying beautiful voices atop of indie folk and alternative rock opuses, so vibrant and variable.
1. Конус Маха – Состояние | Mach Cone – Condition (2021)
🇷🇺 This band’s name is determined by the unity of physics and lyrics. In this cone, the sound vibrations propagate. In addition to perturbation of space, they interact with the strings of the soul. These songs, being written about the state of souls, are filled with the light in its multiple reflections and shadows. It moves with us, if only everything that we perceive is not a dream.

2. Tanssiva Karhu – Luonnossa (2023)
🇫🇮 This album takes us on a walk through the wild. At least, this is what the album title means in Finnish. The group itself goes by the name “Dancing Bear”. It perfectly corresponds to their experiments with folk, indie-pop sounds and ghosts of psychedelia wandering between thin trees in between of endless lakes.

3. Tiger Balme – Tiger Balme (2022)
🇨🇦 The brilliant interplay of vibraphone and harp not only enhances the sound of this band, but makes it unique. Sensual lyrics and non-trivial arrangements are lurking in each of the compositions. They are rich in Eastern motifs and Western rigor, which often loses control over what is happening here and there.

4. Gal Pal – This and Other Gestures (2023)
🇺🇸 Our episode ends with an album full of unexpected things. Explosive emotions are hiding under seeming calm. On the contrary, a refined prostration dwells within the desire to break out. Weird contradictions accompany swings of rhythm and bursts of noise, dissolving into a soft and muffled sound.
