๐ฉ๐ช ๐ฎ๐ณ The music you’ll hear is good for at least three reasons. Firstly, it simply sounds wonderful and fiery thanks to the musicians’ skills and their vision.
Secondly, the idea of crossing jazz, Western folk and pop music with classical Indian music, in my opinion, is brilliant. For sure, this idea is not the newest, but no matter how many times we return to it. There is an abyss of opening possibilities.
Finally, musicians manage to create something new. Thy are adapting the sound of the sitar and tabla to easier perception. Sometimes you’ll meet a beautiful theme from a famous raga. In other moments, the instruments begin to sound in not a supposed way.
This team is international. It was created in Berlin by like-minded people Peter Hinz (percussion) and Steffen Dix (saxophone). They brought together carriers of Indian techniques and several European musicians on one stage. There are six permanent members in the group and we are listening to their second album, which was released three years ago.
