The Indica Project – Aum (2023)

🇮🇳 The Indica Project has found its place among the successful, but yet not well-known projects, crossing the musical traditions of India with the inventions of world culture and modern technologies.

The focus of this group is on two instruments typical of the Carnatic tradition. It’s the violin and the mrudangam. Not the tabla which is popular among eclectic musical projects as well.

On the album, the violin sometimes occupies a solo position. More often, it enters into dialogue with the electric guitar. The mrudangam with its characteristic elastic sound got the bass as a companion.

Apparently, this is the second album released by the group. They managed to carefully walk the line between jazz, rock and folk music, leaving a pleasant aftertaste for the audience. It’s the great fusion, not too sophisticated to remain in the universal category of world music and appeal to a wide variety of listeners.
