🇳🇴 A young band from the town of Haugesund somewhere in Norway, presented their debut album this spring. It was released simultaneously on two cool labels.

Each of the trio’s members had time to be part of various local bands. Thus the synergy of experience, versatile aspirations and innovation should have affected the sound of Les Dunes. That’s exactly the case.

Post-rock is firstly about atmospherics. This dimensionality of sound can be different. The listener will get exactly what what the authors saturate it with. Sometimes it’s all melancholy and gloom. In other songs, you’ll face peppy tonality and even sweet aftertaste.

Les Dunes managed to choose the middle ground. They refrain from delving into the wilds of galaxies and nebulae. Their post-rock is sensitive, touching and calm. It’s completely in defiance of the first track’s title, “Mellow Skies”.
