🇮🇱 It’s quite a rare case. We are going to listen to Arabic music from Jerusalem Academy of Music.
The compositions on this album were written for double bass (the author’s companion for the decades) and orchestra. This is exactly where East meets West, dances, rejoices and transmits feelings, comprehends the eternal and simply watches the world.
There are heartfelt double bass solos on the album. You’ll find the moments when it moves to the distant background as well. After all, there are so rich sounding instruments as oud, violin, buzuk, ney and various percussion along with double bass.
I hurried a little, announcing that it’s Arabic music. Although the approach to composing painstakingly follows the traditions, the rhythmic patterns resemble wide borrowings from other cultures and phenomena, primarily from jazz. This gives a special synergistic effect which makes the sound even more pleasureful.
