Paavoharju – Yön mustia kukkia (2023)

🇫🇮 For today, we do have something gentle and light. This is what the album of the Finnish project Paavoharju turns out to be.

Frankly, I don’t know what the name of the band means while Google says it’s Sponge Bob. The music of the project is melancholic and soft, with sparks of joy and concentrated musical fog. From this haze, vague images, memories and premonitions appear every now and then.

You may see wonderful creatures on paths lost in the forest wilderness. Do not rush to make contact with them. As soon as you start looking at them, these worlds will melt away without a trace. The compositions convey these ghostly sensations, alternating the voices of guitars, violins, clarinet, flute with voluminous electronics, gentle vocals and field recordings.
