Chronoscope ~04. 2024, March – April

In this episode, we are listening to more than 30 selected albums which were born in the spring months of the year 2024.

This episode gathered 34 completely diverse albums. The artists represent 18 countries, namely Belgium (x2), Brazil (x3), Canada (x2), Estonia, Finland, France (x2), Germany, Japan, India, Italy, The Netherlands (x2), New Zealand, Poland (x2), Russia, Spain, Turkey, The UK (x9) and the USA (x6).

This time, the albums unintentionally split into four sections that we called “parties”. No politics, it’s all about the way the new works come.

First of all, here are immediate links to the playlists which contain one track per album:

Playlists: spotify | deezer | youtube

Now, let’s find out which “parties” are reigning in the Selected Goosebumps’ Chronoscope number 4.

1. “The Conservative Party”

The albums below indicate strong commitment to the authors’ own style. This doesn’t mean lack of evolution. The only point is that we can feel “the hand of the master” and the artistic way stays remarkable. Please welcome:

2. “The Reformists Party”

Our musical goose feels that the actors in this fraction preferred to change the path. Some of them do it with each record, while possible someone won’t agree with such consideration. Some of the tracks from the albums below refer to live recordings which gift the altering sound and approach.

3. “The Revolutionists Party”

Here are the albums which significantly differ from the artists’ previous works, being spotted by the Selected Goosebumps blog. The revolution term here is to do with the music itself and some of our heroes are doing their own revolution each time.

4. “The Forth Force”

Finally, our last party prefers to stay apart. Meaning only that these albums are available only via bandcamp and we could not include them into our playlists yet. Nevertheless, you should put these issues on as well as the music is worth it.
