Four Picks. 4 Eternities

1. Adam Wiltzie โ€“ Eleven Fugues For Sodium Pentothal (2024)

๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ช Let the first to take the helm be a living in Belgium navigator across the expanses of boundless sound. In addition to home recordings, this album required strings and an entire Hungarian orchestra. The joint effect of its complexity and surprising easiness to feel is echoed by the cover. Looking at it, itโ€™s difficult to say anything at all without losing yourself in one of the perspectives. By the way, the title refers to sodium thiopental, a substance used as a general anesthetic.

2. Cowboy Sadness โ€“ Selected Jambient Works Vol. 1 (2024)

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ โ€œJambientโ€ is a play on words that correctly defines what this trio is dealing with. Guitar jams, improvisations and endless drawings merge with soundscapes. Apparently, these jams themselves become the medium and toy are free to dive into it right away.

3. Jogging House โ€“ Danger (2023)

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช It’s amazing how closely synthetic and natural sounds coexist. We don’t notice this, being immersed in our days. This project from Frankfurt uses a variety of electronic inventions as well as acoustic things like the kalimba. It highlights individual voices and their interweaving, allowing the listener to complete the landscape. Some are going to visualize urban area while others will imagine natural one.
