Four Picks. 4 Jazzy Impulses

Today we have a variety of jazz opuses on our air. What all four have in common is energy and impulsiveness, which is immediately transmitted to the listener.

1. Moses Yoofee Trio โ€“ Ocean (2023)

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช Let’s start the episode with a very cheerful album. It is made of bright jazz with a taste of rhythmic fusion and even some kind of hip-hop. You will immediately feel a clear emphasis on drums. However the author of the music is not at all behind the drum kit. Indeed, he plays the keys. The ocean appears from time to time, bringing its own rhythm. At other moments is calms down amd takes over the rhythm of the musicians.

2. Coast โ€“ Live 2023 (2024)

๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ Our episode is continued with a live recording from the Australian quintet. These guys will offer us progressive jazz in more voluminous forms. They move from easy-to-catch patterns to more complex ones, easily switching between team play, solo and improvisation.

3. Emilio Teubal โ€“ Futuro (2023)

๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ The next release is from an Argentine composer living in New York. The pulse of the metropolis and the South American fervor are the components of this work. The author has a sight into the future. Perhaps its better to say that his sight is coming from the future and this is exactly what is reflected in the title.

4. Freezer โ€“ Icebreaker (2023)

๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ฎ Northern jazz rounds out today’s top four. However, you do not risk freezing as the life is seething under the ice shell. We are greeted by a fish, swift and brave one. It shows the way into the depths where a pure delight can be found.
