This time, we are enjoying progressive sound in all possible parts of the spectrum. Starting from sophisticated ones, gliding through melodic and arriving at enigmatic domains.
1. Obsidian Tide โ The Grand Crescendo (2023)
๐ฎ๐ฑ The musical palette of this Israeli band is extremely diverse. The trio willingly uses the techniques of both classical rock and alternative performance. There is a room for their own developments, non-standard patterns and structures as well. Clean vocals coexist with extreme ones, soft acoustic sounds leapfrog with heavy stuff. In most compositions, the guys are breaking through the walls between genres and canons.

2. Ruby Dawn โ Beyond Tomorrow (2023)
๐ฌ๐ง And now weโll take a breath and admire the marvelous ruby dawn. That’s the name of a musical project from Wokingham, a city near London. The quartet will shower us with coolness and nostalgia, which delivers to a parallel past of the Solar system. The sensual voice of vocalist Carola Carola Baer is accompanied by her own keyboards and guitar solos. This music will send us first to the red Mars, and then to the golden Sun.

3. Pomelo Chess Society โ En Passant (2023)
๐ญ๐ท The band from Rijeka, Croatia, introduces us to a wonderful company of eight. On their latest album, there are six male names, one female and also the mysterious โZedโ. This is how the guys decided to name the songs. By the way, it’s a kind of a tradition, as the debut released a couple of years ago had the same feature. The sound of the chess and quality rock connoisseurs has become even more serious. As their game continues, the three grandmasters are not going to give up the pieces just like that.

4. Held By Trees โ Solace (2023)
๐ฌ๐ง We have one more record from Great Britain, this time it’s a debut. However, it’s created not by the newcomers, but rather by the real titans of the British scene. Iโll leave it to you to figure out who took part in this project. For instance, you can read this interview. I will only say that it’s a true dream team behind this name. This music appears to be something not at all familiar to the ears of both the musicians themselves and the audience.
