Our forth episode in the Psychedelia series is covering raw and emotional segments of psychedelic rock. Some of them descend to garage while others go even further to the basement where the heaviness dwells.

1. Las Visiones – Cruces de Neón (2021)

🇲🇽 We are starting from hot Guadalajara, Mexico. The local act Las Visiones does not need any warming up. They are transforming catchy rock into cosmic waves, dealing with punkish style. Adding portions of heavy shoegaze, sincere vocals and wrapping all up with gaudy arrangements, the trio transmits positive charge to the audience. The visions which appear on the way, comes from the intersection between the rational and the irrational, the evident and the hidden, the natural and the artificial.

Watching the end and going further, what we are going to encounter? These four do not give answers for now, letting you to reflect yourself and to find your own clue. This albums sounds brilliant, slowing down exactly when it’s needed to have a sip of the air and going slightly faster to heat it up. The band surey reaches the peak with this opus.

4. The WRS – Capicúa (2022)

🇧🇪 Now, we are arriving at Charleroi, Belgium. The local collective the WRS shares sparkling fuzz, derived from garage rock or even completely reworked rock ‘n’ roll. The album’s title stands for a palindrome, something that starts and ends with the same point. And yeh, we are immediately caught by the sonic loop, the one that is enforced by some electronic effects and the exotic theremin. It will find your inner freakuency and will finally blow you up with acid psychedelic explosive. It’s pretty strange and extremely vibrant album after all!

It’s up to you, to float or to dive, all options available. You’ll hear the Sound of the River, mesmerizing and overwhelming. The next voice is the heartless one. And the final piece is an acid slow dance, though not casual one. They say it’s shamanic one, the lament for a lost soul, which is temporarily imprisoned in you.
